Every employer applying for a work permit for a foreigner must demonstrate that they are unable to satisfy their staff needs in the local labor market. For this purpose, they submit a job offer in the local employment office competent for the place of work to be performed by the foreigner. In response to this offer, the authorities issue the information about the possibility of satisfying the employer's staffing needs or not. They have 21 days for it. Employment in some professional groups does not require obtaining the above information, thus the process of obtaining a work permit becomes shorter. These are, among others, IT professions, in the case of which, according to the Regulation of the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy of 28 June 2018, employers wishing to employ a foreigner were exempted from the obligation to demonstrate the inability to satisfy their staff needs in the local labor market.
