Foreigners holding the function of a member of the management board of a commercial law company must remember that in accordance with the Polish immigration law it is necessary to obtain a work permit relating to the function of a member of the management board of a given company if they stay in Poland to perform this function for a period longer than 6 months in the next 12 months. Being a partner in a company does not exempt from the obligation to have a work permit if one performs the function. During the process of applying for this permit type, it should be demonstrated that the company's activity is beneficial to the Polish economy by meeting the minimum requirements indicated by the regulations. This type work permits are issued for up to 5 years.
